Announcement :

In order to strengthen our R&D team, we are seeking an R&D engineer in
Meteorology and Climate.

If you want to participate to the development efforts of a rapidly growing start-up, with no equivalent in the world of meteorology and climate, if you are convinced that meteorological forecasts can be optimized by post-treatments and that you have many ideas to do so, you will enjoy working at Climpact. Under the supervision of the R&D manager, you will be in charge of weather observations, weather/climate forecasts, and algorithms used in the Climpact products and services. The successful candidate will:

* make sure that they are scientifically and technically up-to-date;

Qualifications/skills:

You are a young PhD/PostDoc in meteorology, climatology or related field and
never occupied a permanent position in France.

In the framework of your PhD or postdoc, you have handled and analyzed large data sets (observations, meteorological and/or climate forecasts) and you have enjoyed it. You master the spatial downscaling methods, the deterministic/probabilistic scores, the data analysis methods such as CCA or clustering algorithms and topics related to ensemble predictions. You are used to program in an UNIX/Linux environment. The knowledge of R, Python, Java/C languages and GRIB format is a plus as well as of limited area models such as MM5/WRF.

You are autonomous, adaptable rigorous and tenacious. You are enterprising and
like team working.
