Young, Libyan drilling company seeking professional, experienced and ambitious General Manager (Libyan or expatriate). Competitive compensation package with performance based components. Role includes managing a up to 5 land drilling rigs involved in exploration and development, an excellent Tripoli based operations team as well as respective rig crews.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Manage the company's businesses in a manner that promotes teamwork, motivates personnel, efficiently utilises human, technical, and financial resources and achieves business objectives.
• Maintain or establish high standards of technical and operational preparation, operations, co-ordination, health and safety and personnel development.
• Maintain an organisational structure which is best suited for the achievement of Company business objectives, facilitates clear accountabilities whilst ensuring staffing by personnel of the necessary calibre and training.
• Exploit, with directors, profitable related business opportunities.
• To influence work climate, employee attitude and Company remuneration policies to sustain a profitable business.
• Overall implementation of the Company Management System Procedures.
• Maintain or establish quality standards to ensure operations are operated, maintained and manned at a level that provides customer satisfaction.
• Promote client awareness of company and establish or maintain a close working relationship with clients.
• Agree standards and implement procedures with the assistance of Departmental Heads. Ensure that these standards and procedures are effectively communicated to and implemented by all personnel.
• Carry out competence assessment in respect of departmental staff.
• Review annual company‘s operating budgets and resource requirements. Monitor and submit monthly management accounts to the Board of Directors.
• Ensure appropriate training and deployment of personnel and competence of contractors.
• Agree financial objectives for company’s operations with Senior Management and Board of Directors.
• Ensure the efficient management and execution of operational contracts.
• Oversee that company HSE policies are fully implemented and adhered to by all employees.
• Endorse safety objectives and targets set for each installation and for the company as a whole and ensure that as far as practicable these objectives are met.
Only qualified managers (must be fluent in English / Arabic would be a distinct advantage) with at least 5 years in a drilling superintendent or operations manager position should apply. Preferable if managers also have at least 3 years management experience.
