Job Description

Soul Resources is seeking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer on behalf of their client for a project based in Libya as follows:-

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Rotation: 8 weeks on and 3 weeks off
12 months renewable contract
Flights/Accommodation/Insurance etc provided by the client

The candidate shall have experience in the Planning, Design. Co-ordination and Project Management of oil-field or petrochemical or heavy industry Mechanical installations and power plant design projects.

The candidate will share and apply best practices, both from within and from external sources, and provide Mechanical engineering support for projects and plant changes, managed by the Project & Technical Services Department.

Duties and Responsibilities will be:
• Engineering services required to carry out Mechanical projects involving rotating equipment for power generation, gas turbines, motors, pumps, compressors, plant piping systems and storage tanks.
• Designing support for projects across the whole of the company sites, particularly in Power Plant projects.
• Design and Engineering of new projects including preparation of detailed scope of work and tender proposals, cost analysis and project reports.
• Undertaking studies and analysis related to mechanical installations and equipment and make appropriate reports and recommendations.
• Design of overall facilities and selection of equipment to be purchased.
• Technical advice on Mechanical projects and checking contractors work to ensure compliance with specifications and engineering standards.
• Interface with other departments and outside suppliers and contractors.
• Undertaking bid evaluations.
• Site investigations on special operational issues and recommend solutions.
• Preparing and reviewing specifications for Mechanical equipment.
• Estimating or providing input to estimating for plant changes and projects.

Requirements:

The candidate shall have a BSc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent from an accredited University, a detailed understanding of the subject and proven evidence of technical capabilities.

Ideally, should have satisfied the training requirements for Chartered Engineer status or the equivalent, and have experience of mechanical engineering in the Petrochemical / Oil & Gas Industry, with strong background in Consulting Engineering and Design.

Will be working in a multidisciplinary team, so he should have good communication skills and the ability to coordinate and support Mechanical activities within the site organization
