Role synopsis:
We are looking for Libyan national to join our Drilling Team as a Drilling Cost Controller. The position will be based in Tripoli and will report to the Wells Team Leader. The work program involves starting up BP Libya's 17 well exploration programs due to spud in mid 2010. Initially the post will be focused on setting up the cost tracking system & thereafter monitoring and reporting costs of the Drilling operations.

The Drilling Cost Controller will be accountable for cost tracking during planning and execution phases as part of the drilling engineering team .You will deliver reports on spending to the drilling, supply chain & finance teams.


Key accountabilities:
Key accountabilities for this role are:
-Configure Implement and maintain Cost Tracking system database for various projects.
-Help to configure cost codes to be used.
-Maintain data base clarity to ensure accurate match of invoices submitted for payment.
-Help to review and understand monthly spend reports generated by Libya Financial reporting
-Management of AFE budget control within cost tracking system for D&C.
-Liaise with Senior Planning Engineer, Engineers & Vendors to obtain finalized quotations, prior to raising and submitting Purchase Orders for approval
-Frequent liaison with office to accurately track material movements.
-Assist Finance and Engineers to resolve cost queries at invoice level not reported against project AFE.
-Maintain an auditable trail of movements within cost tracking data base to assist in well re-conciliation requirements.
-Ensure BP’s HSE and Policy requirements are incorporated into the project.

Essential criteria & qualifications:
- Libyan National.
- Experience in Cost Control or Data Base Programmes.
- Good English communication skills
- Personal commitment and proactive approach to Health, Safety and the Environment.
- Educated to degree level in Finance or related discipline.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proven track record as a strong team player.

Desirable criteria & qualifications:
- Competence with Landmark well engineering software packages (Oracle, Open Wells, CTX, etc).
- Experience of working with third party service providers.
- Good Key Board Skills.
- Experience working in Drilling Department
